Between consumerism and materialism, a short film addressing the issues of our society, recognized and selected by one of Italy's most renowned short film Festivals
The Milkshake is a project created by young directors Salvatore Ruggeri and Francesco Bengasi.
The short film has been selected for the Amarcort Film Festival in the Super Corti category, one of Italy's most prestigious events dedicated to short films under three minutes in length. The festival will take place in Rimini from December 3 to 8 and will pay tribute to Fellini.
The Milkshake is a short film that aims to reflect on the concept of consumerism in contemporary society. In a world where objects become an illusory promise of fulfillment and materialism, the filmmakers want to demonstrate how this dependency can become a huge inconvenience. Through a visually powerful and incisive narrative, The Milkshake explores how the obsession with material goods brings out the darkest side of each of us.
“We wanted to tell a short yet impactful story that would push the audience to reflect on how materialism influences our lives and choices” say the two directors, Salvatore and Francesco.
Salvatore Ruggeri and Francesco Bengasi are two students in the Bachelor's Degree in Video Design at IED Milano, who have already received recognition for their works. With The Milkshake, the two students demonstrate their skills in addressing complex themes in a short format with great coherence, synthesis, and emotional impact, earning a spot among the emerging talents in the Italian cinematic scene.
