An animation thesis is on the shortlist (among only 4 selected) for the “Best Nextgen Short Film” award; another IED short film will be screened during the panel on cinema and mental health
A perfect storm is the IED animated short film in the running for the Best Nextgen Short Film award, which will be presented at the Milano Short Film Festival on Sunday 8 September at 2pm at the Anteo Palazzo del Cinema (sala Astoria). The work, a thesis project for the three-year degree in Animation, was realised by Greta Cecini and Anna Zonca with sound designer Andrea Platania. The story follows the daily routine of a cashier who along the day faces a series of annoying incidents, which undermine her emotional equilibrium: only the intervention of her daughter, with her hilarious imagination, will manage to improve the situation (in the image a frame).
At the festival, IED is also present with the Video Design short film, with the always topical theme of mental health: La felicità non fa racconto (Happiness doesn't make a story, by Nicola Luciani, director, Davide Gamberoni Zini, Gaia Mandara, editor, Giada Vitacca, Nicola Bonaglia, director of photography) will be screened during a dedicated panel on Saturday 7 September at the Cinema Anteo, in the presence of the authors and psychologist Giovanni D'onorio De Meo. The short film describes the reunion of a daughter with her mother, still shaken by the loss of her husband.
