The looks will be on display from 14 May until the end of June

The upcycling collection ‘Patches’ was designed and produced by students of the Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design from IED Kunsthal Bilbao, thanks to clothing donated by Koopera, a social economy initiative driven by Cáritas, which aims to foster the social and labour integration of people in a situation or at risk of social inclusion.

This collection was showcased during the fashion show held at Sala BBK, within the framework of Fashion Revolution Week. Right from its inception, the proposal of these young designers has been based on the values shared by IED Kunsthal Bilbao, Fashion Revolution and Koopera, which aim to drive the change towards a circular fashion industry that is more sustainable and fairer for both society and the environment.

‘Patches’ questions the capitalist system, and invites us to seek new paths and models with a positive and hopeful outlook towards a better future in which “other worlds are possible”. A collection inspired by Vivienne Westwood’s historicist and punk-style references, as well as by the Y2K aesthetics of the 2000s, and social networks like TIK TOK.

The 10 looks are the result of joint work between first-year students, who carried out the design and production of the pieces, and third-year students who created the styling. This collection can be viewed from today until the end of June in the window display of the Koopera Store in the city's historic centre (C/ Victor, 5).
