The event, open to everyone, offered the opportunity to discover the jewelry collections created by IED Torino students in collaboration with Damiani, in celebration of the brand's centenary.
IED Torino presented the installation OLTRETEMPO, created in collaboration with Damiani and dedicated to the thesis projects of students from the Jewelry and Accessory Design course.
The exhibition remained open to the public throughout Wednesday, October 30, 2024, and the official inauguration took place at 6:00 PM in the Sala Turinetti of Gallerie d'Italia – Turin, in Piazza San Carlo 156.
During the event, visitors had the chance to discover the collections created by the young designers, a tribute to Damiani that celebrated its 100 years by reinterpreting the values, craftsmanship, and iconic design of the brand, projecting it into the future. The students explored and reinterpreted iconic designs, highlighting Damiani’s distinctive characteristics within a contemporary context.
The collaboration between Damiani and the third-year students of IED Torino required a year of work and was divided into three phases: conceptual research, digital technical development of the jewelry, and storytelling of the collections. This project offered students the opportunity to explore and reinterpret the essence of the brand, preserving its distinctive style and artisanal tradition while introducing new ideas and experimentation.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Giorgio Grassi Damiani, Vice President of the Damiani Group; Alberto Cirio, President of the Piedmont Region; Michele Coppola, Director of Gallerie d'Italia; and Paolo Chiavarino, Commerce Councillor for the City of Turin, for their invaluable support. Special thanks also go to Daniela Bulgarelli, coordinator of the Jewelry and Accessory Design three-year course at IED Torino, and to Professor Samuele Armellin, who supervised the theses.
Thesis projects by: Silvia Adamo, Laura Barreri, Chiara Fazzari, Daniele Mantovani, Giulia Noascone, Lorenzo Ravarino, Lu Yuquian, Asia Zuppa.
