The designer unveiled new ways to give plastic and organic waste a second life
On 15 November, Gianluca Pugliese, Ambassador of Italian Design, visited IED Kunsthal Bilbao, along with Nicola Carbone, Commercial Attaché of the Italian Embassy and promoter of this talk, which is part of the Week of Italian Cuisine.
Born in Turin, where he specialises in 3D printing, Gianluca Pugliese founded LOWPOLY in Madrid in 2018; a company dedicated to sustainability in the field of large format 3D printing, researching and developing new sustainable technologies and materials.
Students from all specialities of the Bachelor of Arts, master's and specialisation courses, as well as teachers and staff members, had the opportunity to discover the possibilities of what can be designed using food waste such as orange peel or olive pits.
The designer also shared various retail, decoration and interior design projects that he has developed for a range of international brands such as Adidas and Armani.
