On 3 and 4 October, IED Barcelona welcomed the 78 students undertaking the Master's, Postgraduate and Specialisation Courses from the October intake. In an encounter divided across two days, the new students were able to experience their first contact with the School, accessing content addressing their training, inspiration and integration, as well as meet their future classmates.
During the first day, the students of the Master in Fashion Marketing and Communication, Master in Fashion Design, Master in Interior Design for Hotels, Gastronomic and Commercial Spaces and the Master in Sustainable Design participated in the Welcome Workshop: a transdisciplinary workshop kicking off the ‘Designing For the Many’ project. It was conducted by Anaïs Esmerado, social innovator and specialist in participatory projects, Director and Founder of Ojalá Project.
The Corporate Welcome was held on the following day, where the participants of the previous day were joined by students of the Postgraduate in Event Design and Management and the Specialization Course in Interior Design and Conceptualisation.
Andrea Marchesi, Director of IED Barcelona, provided an official welcome, urging them to make the most of all the opportunities that their time at IED would offer, and emphasising the need to use design for the common good. Next, Marina Ojan, Director of the Master School, was in charge of introducing the academic part of the event, and invited them to continue to the last activity of the Welcome event: the presentation ‘Regenerative Culture, Design and Communication’ by Gabriela Pedranti, Teacher and Partner & Co-founder of Semiotica Studio.
The event ended with a Q&A session open to the students.
