The thesis short film DeliveRAGE won the Visioni Future Award in the Student Project category at the Cefalù Film Festival.
Sofia Giampieretti, Gaia Mastropietro, Giovanna Mastantuoni, Priscilla Lenoci and Rossella De Giosa collaborated on a thesis project for the Master Course in Animation Design. Their commitment and dedication certainly did not go unnoticed at the Cefalù Film Festival. A festival that originated in 2015 from an idea by Mario Macaluso to promote cinema internationally, creating a bridge between filmmakers and audiences. Innovation, the future, freedom and independence are the cornerstones of the Sicilian event, which, each year, offers a range of 23 topics for participants to experience, so that they can address all forms of social and cultural issues.
DeliveRAGE embodies the ideals of the Festival, dealing with profound social issues. The protagonist G. is a young rider who retraces the major milestones in her life after a fall in the streets of a rainy Milan. An animated short film that wants to counter the ghettoisation of cyclo-workers and, moreover, explore their worlds, their stories, going beyond issues of gender, nationality and status.
The Coordinator of the Master Course in Animation Design at IED Milano, Lorenzo Lodovichi, commented on this victory: “All of us at IED are always the first to take joy in reading the stories about people who were once our students and now proudly take on innovative professions, exciting projects, challenges that are more and more engaging every day, turning opportunities into successes, as in the case of DeliveRAGE”.
