Massimo Giacon's project: a time capsule that tells the story of the evolution of events and reflections throughout an entire leap year, through drawing

Massimo Giacon, a cartoonist, illustrator, designer, and professor at IED Milan, has created a special project for 2024: the Progetto 366. Throughout the year, the artist has committed to drawing and commenting on the news that most struck him each day, thus creating a visual and reflective snapshot of political, social, or cultural events.

This daily commitment, coinciding with the leap year and its 366 days, results in a work that blends art and news, creating a unique time capsule. The outcome will be gathered in an exclusive book, Progetto 366, available in only 366 copies, each containing one of the original drawings featured.

The work will be on display for the public during Arte Fiera in Bologna, from February 7 to 9, at the Giampaolo Abbondio Gallery. The artist will be present on February 8 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM to meet visitors and discuss the project. Later, on February 13, Giacon will curate a sound event in Milan, at the Antonio Colombo Arte Contemporanea Gallery, where the work will also be displayed on February 14 and 15 in via Solferino 44, with the artist present.
