Fashion for Future Award in Almaty: sustainable designs, inspired by upcycling and conscious fashion.
IED Group awarded two 100% scholarships for Summer Courses 2025.
Jane Rüsz Rauff Scaffidi Abbate, a professor at IED Milan, was a member of the jury board for the Fashion for Future contest, held within the framework of Eurasian Fashion Week.
The theme of the competiton was "DENIM FOR FUTURE: A World of Upcycling"
The winners were selected from 12 finalists. Zhibek Sharipkhanova, the first-place winner, was granted a 3-week Summer Course scholarship in IED Florence, Italy.
Her collection is inspired by ocean waves, Japanese culture, traditional costumes, street style, and elements of Kazakh and Japanese arts. It also aims to raise awareness about ocean pollution caused by textile waste.
Elizaveta Semenova from Kazakhstan won a 2-week Summer Course scholarship in IED Barcelona, Spain.
Her concept focuses on liberating the environment from the burden of over-consumption of materials. It serves as an example of how we can give new life to familiar items and collectively embrace a future of conscious fashion.
