Un total de siete marcas de alumni del IED Barcelona e IED Madrid participarán en la próxima edición de la Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week de Madrid

ERROZ, JNORIG, Micaela Clubourg and DENISE are brands of Alumni IED Barcelona. Mans, Karlo Módenes, Maison Gracen and Serra Studio belong to IED Madrid Alumni

 

From 19 to 23 February, a new edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Madrid will take place at IFEMA's Pavilion 14.1 as its main venue.

The major fashion showcase in Spain celebrates its 40th anniversary, demonstrating the high quality of signature design.

Once again, Istituto Europeo di Design will be represented at this event of reference for Spanish fashion through the work of Alumni who have developed their own project.

On the official fashion show agenda will be Pablo Erroz (ERROZ) and Javier Girón (JNORIG), from IED Barcelona, and Jaime Álvarez (Mans), from IED Madrid. In the EGO catwalk of new talents there is the alumnus of Barcelona, Micaela Clubourg.

Finally, three IED Madrid Alumni and one IED Barcelona Alumni will be in the EGO showroom: Carlos Módenes (Karlo Módenes), Marta Granados (Maison Gracen) and Mariano García Serrano (Serra Studio) and Denise Graus (DENISE).

On Thursday 20th at 2pm, designer Jaime Álvarez will show his brand Mans, founded after finishing Fashion Design in 2017 at IED Madrid. Mans is a prêt-à-porter brand in search of a new artisanal tailoring, influenced both by the ateliers of Saville Row and Japanese pattern making.

The result is a new approach to masculinity that fuses classic tailoring references with youth subcultures in a constant interplay of interconnected opposites in search of balance. Mans blends this age-old craftsmanship with avant-garde aesthetics, clean cuts and fabric innovation.

The Generalitat de Catalunya has awarded Jaime Álvarez with the Best Emerging Design Award on three consecutive occasions at 080 Barcelona. In autumn 2020, he was the winner of Vogue Who's on Next. Last June, he was a finalist for the Premio Talento Novel de los Premios Academia de la Moda Española.

Pablo Erroz will show his new collection on Friday 21st at 19h under his eponymous brand ERROZ, a multidisciplinary project founded in 2012 that also includes collaborations in lighting and furniture design. In fashion area, ERROZ is known for its urban and versatile style, with an artisanal approach that does not renounce innovation. He is always committed to the environment, with collections that eliminate the traditional seasons by joining summer and winter.

Finalist in several editions of Vogue Spain's Who's On Next award (2018, 2019, 2020, 2022) ERROZ has been recognised as one of the most promising national figures, while Harper's Bazaar highlights him as one of Spain's most influential artistic voices.

On this occasion, he will present “The Hotel”, a collection that arose from the natural evolution of the previously chapter (“The Club”), where he connects the multidisciplinary universe of collaborations of the Mallorcan designer.

On Saturday 22nd at 4 pm it will be the turn of JNORIG. International celebrities such as Rihanna, Niki Minaj and 2NE1, already know this luxury brand by Javier Girón. Last year, a look he designed with CLOD3 dressed the Canarian singer Soraya Arnelas, in charge of giving the points for Spain at Eurovision.

Graduated in IED Barcelona in 2012, Girón has worked with Jeremy Scott, creative director of Moschino in Los Angeles, and with Agi & Sam, known for blending English tailoring with contemporary urban aesthetics.

Yūgen’, the AW collection that will be presented at Madrid Fashion Week, is an in-depth exploration of the dualities of Japanese culture, embracing both its lights and shadows. Reflecting the spirit of Kaizen - the constant search for improvement - each piece combines innovative digital techniques with reinterpreted traditional elements, striking a balance between the modern and the artisanal.

Micaela Clubourg, who studied the Master in Design for Sustainable Fashion Technology at IED Barcelona is, with Studio cumbre, one of the young designers aspiring to win the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent.

She will show her collection “The Acient Dark / Edit 07” on Sunday 23 at 11 am in EGO catwalk, where his fresh and conceptual style is placed at the service of tradition, to highlight its techniques and pure forms, with garments made from natural fibres and a palette of neutral tones. Looks that tell stories and reconnect us with our roots.

Finally, the brands Serra Studio, Karlo Módenes and Maison Gracen will be in the Cibelespacio showroom, competing for the Allianz EGO Confidence in Fashion award.

Karlo Módenes was founded by IED Madrid Fashion Design Degree student Carlos Módenes in 2022. In September 2024 he showed on EGO catwalk.

Maison Gracen is the brand of Marta Granados, a student of Communication, Styling and Fashion Image Diploma at IED Madrid.

About Serra Studio, it is the brand of Mariano García Serrano, alumnus of Training Cycle of Fashion and Pattern Making of IED Madrid.

Finally, DENISE is the name of the project of Denise Graus, who graduated of the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Fashion Design at IED Barcelona.

An intense agenda by and for fashion with an overflowing presence of IED Community.
