Students with a Bachelor's Degree in Photography participate in the contest “A New Generation of Photographers and Antiques” to document the eighth edition of the fair.

For the sixth consecutive year, IED Turin renews its collaboration with APART - Art & Antiques Fair, the antiques fair that is now in its eighth edition, will take place from October 30 to November 3, 2024, at the Promotrice delle Belle Arti in Turin. This year, third-year students with a Bachelor’s Degree in Photography have been invited to participate in the contest “A New Generation of Photographers and Antiques,” organized by the Piedmontese Antique Dealers Association and the newspaper La Repubblica.

Under the supervision of photographer and instructor Antonio La Grotta, the students will portray various aspects of the fair, which celebrates art as a journey through continents and centuries, from Europe to Asia and Africa, from archaeology to modern times. Involved from the early stages of setup, the students will take their shots, narrating the work of artists and gallery owners and the public's engagement with the exhibited works.

The best photographs, reflecting the personal narrative of the event, will be awarded a prize dedicated to the memory of Marco Guastella, a young talent recognized in the 2021 edition who sadly passed away a few months ago. The winners will be announced on Sunday, November 3, at 11:30 AM by a jury composed of lawyer and collector Fulvio Gianaria, President of the Piedmontese Antique Dealers Association Aldo Ajassa, La Repubblica journalist Ottavia Giustetti, Coordinator of the Photography course at IED Turin Giulia Ticozzi, and photographer and instructor Enrico Carpegna.
