On December 3rd, third-year students of the Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design at IED Milano welcomed the company Alcantara into the classroom. The meeting was organized in anticipation of a collaboration for thesis projects, as well as potential future workshops for first- and second-year students of the same course.

Alcantara operates in the textile sector, producing covering materials, including the eponymous Alcantara fabric, which is distributed globally. The company's origins date back to the 1970s, stemming from a Japanese patent, and in 1972 it was officially established to produce and market the registered Alcantara material worldwide. Over the years, Alcantara has formed prestigious collaborations with global brands in various fields, including design, art, fashion, and automotive industries. Additionally, the company is deeply committed to sustainability and has been certified as "Carbon Neutral" since 2009.
