On November 29th and 30th, the Master of Arts Degrees' students from IED Milano took part in a workshop led by the design sociologist Michael Kaethler
On November 29th and 30th, Rifugio Amprimo (Val di Susa -Italy) hosted a unique workshop inspired by the statement of Russian theorist Viktor Shklovsky: "The world has become so flattened by routine that we no longer fully see the objects around us; we merely recognize them." The central idea was to reclaim the vibrancy of reality by developing techniques to see the world anew, making it unfamiliar or strikingly different.
During the workshop, the Master of Arts Degrees' students from IED Milano explored how design, with its ability to merge aesthetic and material sensibilities, can serve as a fertile ground for redefining perception and transforming the world.
Through a playful and collaborative approach, immersed in snowy nature, the participants challenged themselves in a creative experiment to discover new ways of perceiving an "other" reality. The experience was designed to break free from the monotony of daily life, spark imagination, and offer innovative perspectives for observing and interacting with the surrounding environment.
