The Christmas tree proposal was curated by Cartier and inspired by the firm’s codes
For seven years now, the best luxury brands in the fashion and jewellery industry have been creating uniquely exclusive Christmas trees to be auctioned in favour of two charitable foundations. This campaign is known as Solidarity Xmas Tree, a charity event that included the participation of IED Barcelona in this edition.
Seven third and fourth year students from Product, Interior and Graphic Design worked on a Christmas tree proposal curated by Cartier and inspired by the firm’s codes. The resulting work, entitled “Treasure”, is made up of a golden base on which various iconic red boxes from the French jewellery and watch brand are superimposed to form the shape of a fir tree. The result aims to reflect values such as love, joy and generosity.
The tree was on display at the Canalejas de Cartier boutique in Madrid from 20 to 27 November during the Solidarity Xmas Tree route, in which the various designs were on display in the establishments of 14 participating luxury brands. All the fir trees were then moved on 28 November to the Teatro Real, where the final gala ceremony took place with its corresponding charity dinner and Christmas tree auction.
The money raised on this occasion was donated to Proyecto Persona and the Apsuria Foundation.
IED Barcelona students: Camila Kotliarsky, Arina Verzakova, Arola Velasco Moreno, Júlia Barrera Garcés, Monique de Oliveira, Alvise Van Meijgaard and Charlotte Páez.
