IED Rome Visual Arts lands in Leipzig, to participate in the upcoming edition of the Bright Festival.

The next edition of the Bright Festival, an international cultural event that promotes creativity and digital culture as a means of connecting cultures and countries, will illuminate the German town from October 9 to 13, featuring five days of events, meetings, and performances focused on digital art, lighting design, and music.

IED Rome is participating in the initiative with URBAN SECRETS, an interdisciplinary thesis project developed by nine students in Media Design, Sound Design, and Graphic Design, inspired by the relationship between humans and technology. URBAN SECRETS is an immersive installation aimed at raising awareness of the pervasive presence of technology in our daily lives, addressing themes such as privacy and "digital voyeurism" through the image of windows. The work highlights the reciprocal influence between observers and the observed: while the audience are the observers, they may not realize that they themselves are subjects of observation. Urban Secrets, therefore, is not just a visual installation but also represents a profound reflection on complex human and digital relationships. Additionally, the project is a finalist in the upcoming IED Rome Design Awards, an event that annually recognizes the most innovative thesis works from the Rome IED campus.

The project involved: Alice Ecossi, Elisa Luzi, Roberta Squitieri (Media Design), Giammarco Benetti, Emanuele Danna, Lorenzo Ferrara, Lorenzo Gardenal (Sound Design), Giorgia Guidi, Giulia Sabatino (Graphic Design), with coordination by the teacher and sound designer Alice Felloni, who also participated in the Festival with a personal performance.

This year, the Bright Festival will host numerous new media art installations, live performances, and virtual reality creations designed by artists and creative studios from around the world. In the evening, the festival will entertain the audience with musical events featuring international artists, complemented by 360° projections in the background.
