Francesco Meda is an Italian designer and winner of the Compasso d'oro. His style is characterized by an essential elegance and a particular focus on materials.
He graduated in 2006 from the European Institute of Design in Milan with a degree in Industrial Design and then gained experience in London in Sebastian Bergne's studio and later in Ross Lovegrove's studio. Since his return to Milan in 2008, he has collaborated with his father, Alberto Meda, on projects for clients such as Kartell and Caimi Brevetti. At the same time, he carries out personal art and design projects with other companies and galleries such as Nilufar Gallery, Schoeni Art Gallery in Hong Kong, Colors, Luce di Carrara, Rossana Orlandi Gallery, Mint Gallery in London, Tod's, Ferragamo, Molteni&C, Etal, Zucchetti. His widely published collection "Chinese Footprints" was exhibited in Hong Kong at the Lane Crawford shop and was presented by Schoeni Art Gallery during the 2012/2013 Hong Kong ART fair. In 2013, he co-designed 'Flap', an acoustic panel produced by Caimi Brevetti that went on to win the 'Compasso d'Or award. In the same year, he started production with objects such as LED lamps, marble tables, benches and 3D-printed jewellery. In 2020 he was appointed Creative Director of Acerbis with David Lopez Quincoces.
