IED awaits you in Tbilisi for a day of inspiration and creativity.
How do we relate to material culture today? What does it mean to be a designer in marginalized territories?
Since 2016, Marginal Studio has been operating in Palermo, a complex and challenging place, where they work with local artisans and migrants.
In their projects, they explore design's role beyond industrial production.
Through the process of establishing and developing a Social Design studio, a trajectory is traced that sees Design questioning itself to find new and old social functions.
The founding of a collective-making practice and the self-construction of spaces leads to questioning the foundations of design through engagement with contemporary issues. Public space and migration as a social and political theme are the focus of reflections on the future of the discipline and European culture.
