A technical and creative journey through the phases of design and production, materials, trends, technologies or regulations and certifications.
The Specialization Course in Sustainable Denim Design trains professionals capable of developing jeans collections with their specific technical, industrial and pattern-making projects, designed both for medium and high-end distribution companies as well as for their own brand.
With a 360º sustainable approach, the course will offer you a global vision of the sector, addressing the technical and creative dimensions: knowledge of trends, design, technique, technology, traditional and innovative fabrics, components and phases of the process, from the concept and strategy to the finishings.
In addition, you will learn first-hand about the reality of the sector thanks to a program of activities that includes workshops and visits to companies, studios or showrooms. You will finish your training with the individual presentation of your own sustainable denim/casual fashion collection.

Your training will culminate in a final project: the creation, production and presentation of a sustainable denim/casual collection.
Your training journey will be completed with case studies, workshops and outings so that you can get to know first-hand all the key phases of the product industrialization process: spinning and weaving companies, industrial laundry, R&D and sustainable development centres, showrooms and denim studios.

In order to take this program, you must have a basic understanding of the Adobe package, as well as submit your updated resume and motivation letter. If any of the admission requirements are not met, the school will evaluate each case individually.

From a totally sustainable approach, the program is designed to work on technical and creative aspects of the design and production of denim garments, which will allow you to discover the mechanism of this industry from start to finish.

Led by a teaching team of active professionals, you will immerse yourself in the reality of the sector in Barcelona, not only through theoretical and practical work in the classroom, but also by participating in a series of visits to companies, studios or showrooms. In addition, you will do it at the IED, one of the fashion and design schools with the greatest national and international projection.
