New packaging concept for noodles in a cup aimed at reducing the carbon footprint by taking up less space during the product’s transportation and storage.
Designed using Kresling’s origami method, “Up Noodles” can be packed down for easy stacking at the point of sale. It is then expanded when purchased to allow adding the water that is needed to consume the food.
The proposal contains references to modern East Asian culture, including a font inspired by Korean writing as well as engaging with a young, creative audience.
Its manufacture uses sugar cane fibre with a cup lined with compostable corn-based PLA and a recyclable paper label with PLA lining inside. The inks are compostable.
