A collection that expresses the recovery process after suffering sexual abuse through volumes, fabrics and colours

“Ascidia” is a collection that emerges from one of the most painful and transformative periods, after having suffered sexual abuse. It is a testimony of the intense battle against one’s own internal demons, reflecting the effort to repress feelings that, though we try to contain them, fight hard to come to the surface. It represents the internal war, a fierce fight between the desire to silence the pain and the need to release it and heal. Through the use of volumes, this collection seeks to illustrate the internal struggle and how demons try to escape from the body, while you strive to keep it together.

The student uses black and navy blue to represent claustrophobia, and white and beige to evoke hope. The fabric chart includes technical fabrics, mohair, linen, cotton and cloth fabric, among others.
