A concept car that redefines sportiness for generation Z, lighting projects ‘inspired by Barcelona’ or innovative solutions on the use of wood, are some of the IED proposals to be presented during Fuorisalone 2025

Discover all the events where IED students present their projects during Fuorisalone 2025 under the motto of this edition: Connected Worlds.  

 

  • ITALDESIGN

7-13 April
Opificio 31 - Via Tortona 31 

Human beings, nature and technology come together in Italdesign projects, tracing an ideal circular movement and creating emotional connections. In the space set up in the Tortona area, Italdesign declines the Fuorisalone theme Mondi Connessi (Connected Worlds) to express the company's eclecticism and holistic approach. Also, Rapida, the new concept created by the students of the Master in Transportation Design IED Turin in collaboration with Italdesign, whose design development redefines sportiness for the Z generation, will be among the projects on display in the showroom. 

 

  • LOOK 4WARD - BUILD YOUR FUTURE 

8 April at 4 pm 

Teatro IED Moda, Via Pompeo Leoni 3 

IED hosts the event organised by Intesa Sanpaolo and part of the Look4Ward project, the observatory on the skills of the future, a platform created to understand current trends and anticipate future scenarios. An opportunity to get in touch with innovators, professionals, and start-ups, to discover key skills and opportunities for the future. Ahead of the event, registered guests can participate in the Intesa Sanpaolo challenge, organised in collaboration with IED and Forbes, sharing their future vision. The most original answers will be selected and presented, offering the opportunity to contribute to the reflection. 

 

  • INSPIRED IN BARCELONA: LUCE

IED Barcelona returns to Milan with ‘Inspired in Barcelona: Light’ by BCD, a tribute to lighting designers and companies in the Catalan capital. The exhibition is hosted in an exceptional setting: the Salone Scalabrini of the Chiesa del Carmine, in the heart of Milan's Brera district. ‘Inspired in Barcelona: Light’, curated by Stefano Colli, highlights the tradition and innovation that characterise lighting design in Barcelona, reflecting its vibrant creative and entrepreneurial ecosystem. The exhibition brings together projects by emerging designers and established brands in the same space, offering a journey that weaves past, present, and future through light. The exhibited Product Design projects are: Línea de Arina Verzakova, Éclat de Reina Tay Bou and Amberine de Carina Kalweit.

 

  • IED x B&B HOTELS

9 April - afternoon 

Terrazza B&B Hotels Duomo

On the occasion of the vernissage organised by B&B Hotels for the reopening of their terrace in the centre of Milan, there will be a selection of panels illustrating the rearrangement designs proposed by the Master in Interior Design IED Milan during the ‘IED x B&B HOTELS’, a workshop previously organized at our school's classrooms.

 

  • TUTTE LE VITE DEL LEGNO [Wood's lifes]

8-13 April - Award Ceremony: Thursday April 10 at 5 pm

Spazio RivaViva, via L. Porro Lambertenghi 18 (quartiere Isola) 

Riva, a leading company in the field of luxury furniture and artistic woodworking, presents the results of a design contest reserved for IED Rome Product Design students. The project, in collaboration with Legambiente, is a journey through the infinite creative and sustainable possibilities offered by wood, a noble and versatile material. The students were asked to reinterpret it, imagining innovative solutions that combine aesthetics, functionality and respect for the environment. The selected works will be exhibited in the RivaViva space, an installation that tells the story and potential of wood in all its forms. The projects combine traditional craftsmanship and future vision and were designed by Massimo Gentile, Eraclea La Rocca, Alessandro Randazzo, and Vittoria Trizzino.

  • NUNA with IED at GIARDINO DELLE IDEE BY VANITY FAIR  

8 - 13 April - Award Ceremony: 12 April

Vanity Fair organises - for the second time - an exhibition/workshop on the new responsible design. This year's theme is Time for Durability, with a focus on the durability of materials, products and consumption. IED is at NUNA's side with the customisation of 5 products (bouncer, high chair, baby carrier, car seat, pram) by 5 pairs of IED Milan students of Illustration and Animation, Graphic Design and Fashion Design (undergraduate and masters). The event ends with an award ceremony for the best project, with the voting coming from the public on-site and online. The project was supervised by two IED Alumni and lecturers: Margherita Caspani (Alumnae Illustration and Animation) and Marco Billotti (Alumnus Graphic Design). 

 

  • LIFE FOREVER, SPECIAL PROJECT WITH AEG/ELETTROLUX

7 – 13 April

Design Hub, Piazza Gae Aulenti

Exhibition of four posters created by multidisciplinary Undergraduate and Postgraduate IED Milano students dedicated to the theme of the longevity of garments. The posters were realised with different techniques - from illustrations to more material expressions - with the aim of raising awareness about washing dirty clothes better for a greater durability of the materials and waste reduction.

 

  • WORLDS CONNECTED, LIVES IN MOVEMENT

‘Connected Worlds, Lives in Motion’ is the theme of the special project created by AmicoBlu in collaboration with IED Rome. Inspired by the Fuorisalone 2025 concept, students from the Graphic Design and Illustration and Animation courses at IED Rome created the graphics for the wrapping of one of the AmicoBlu fleet vehicles. After a month of work, the customised van is ready to travel the streets of Milano during the Design Week, before continuing its journey to Rome in the following days.
