‘Olympia’, the Final Degree Project by student Gaizka Albizu, addresses the fragility of the archetypes we assign to our objects of desire, and what this reflects about us. Inspired by the eponymous character in Jacques Offenbach’s opera ‘The Tales of Hoffmann’, this project uses the distortion of the body as a symbol of the conflict between artificial expectations and the reality of the desired person.
The recent graduate of IED Kunsthal Bilbao's Fashion School was selected to work on his proposal together with the artist Michel Comte as part of the Identity project for Pitti Uomo 2024. Further information available here.
