If space exploration will allow human habitation on extraterrestrial space, the various fields of design could be crucial in defining a comfortable environment in which to thrive. Lunar conditions, including reduced gravity and the absence of an atmosphere, lead to a field of research for unprecedented design solutions in which safety, risk reduction and comfort are governed by entirely new rules. Solutions were therefore designed for interior, food, object and service design, accessories and clothes. The work was topped off with a user manual. Interior Design students have come up with three different capsules, featuring a design geometry that recalls fractals, each aimed at offering a specific activity. Also part of the project is a fashion collection that imagines an unusual evolution of space travel and proposes wearable solutions for a lunar party dated 2050. The sheen and the type of materials are reminiscent of lunar atmospheres, in a mix of references to the world of clubbing.
