Academic year

2023/2024

The students of the Bachelor's Degree in Product Design took the "Modellistica 2" exam. The goal was to create an entertainment game

The purpose was to utilize the production technologies covered during the course, such as CNC milling machines, laser cutting, silicone casting, and various 3D printers including filament, sintering, and powder printers. Additionally, students were required to present an electronic interaction using the Arduino programmable platform.

HEAD CRANE is a project created by Federico Beghi, Irene Beretta, Federica Brini, Aurora Lupatini, and Riccardo Federico. It is a working prototype of a game/challenge designed with mechanical movements and simple electronic interaction. The inspiration comes from competitive construction games and is designed for players to build two towers within a residential area. Players must develop two essential skills: ensuring the stability of the tower by intelligently arranging the blocks, and controlling the crane, operated with their head, to move the blocks, while also dealing with obstacles like earthquakes. The game starts by pressing the power button, with time measured by a led strip that lights up to signal the upcoming vibrations of the platforms where the towers are built.
