The project, Centro de Ocio Cañada Real (Leisure Center Cañada), comes from an investigation on the social exclusion suffered by some areas in particular causing in them a lack of motivation and opportunities. Specially, the area of the cañada real Galiana in Madrid.
The answer the interior designer wanted to offer to the problem of social exclusion is to build a leisure center with spaces that provide activities to meet the needs, desires and motivations of users and thus achieve personal satisfaction and a transformation of themselves and the environment.
I have chosen leisure as an activity connected with fun, offers new learning opportunities outside school related to soft skills and make these users have place to go to spend their free time. The project also proposes a self-construction structures in order to involve citizens to make this space their own and create community.
The project was received a MINI Award of Design, in the category New Talent, during Madrid Design Festival 2023.
