In another example of projects cross-cutting the IED network, seven Graphic Design, Motion Graphics and Video, Product Design and Interior Design students from IED Barcelona travelled to Helsinki (Finland) to develop the practical part of the Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) “Doing and Understanding Art and Design Through Body and Brain”.
From 14 to 18 October they met at Aalto University where they developed a workshop on space and the perception of space together with five other students from the Aldo Galli Academy of Fine Arts in Como as well as students from the University of Naples Federico II.
Raffaella Perrone, Director of the IED Barcelona Design School, accompanied the students to Helsinki and participated in the meeting programme with her presentation ‘The human body as the “measure” of the world’.
The result for the students taking part was gaining knowledge about how design and art can serve to channel our interaction with the world, even without technology, and how this can influence the future habits and practices of humanity.
Erasmus BIP is a new short-stay Erasmus mobility programme that allows projects to be carried out together with other institutions with funds provided by the Erasmus programme.
