IED Firenze continues its collaboration with LINEAPELLE, the international leather industry exhibition
IED Firenze continues its collaboration with LINEAPELLE, the international leather industry exhibition, participating in the 103rd edition scheduled from February 20 to 22 at Fiera Milano Rho.
Inside Padiglione 24, they will showcase nine creative basketballs, the result of the work of students and alumni selected from the Advertising Communication and Graphic Design courses.
Illustrator Nicola Giorgio led the team in creating the basketballs, interpreting cross-cutting themes related to sports through graphics, colors, and applications, in line with Lineapelle's slogan "Be part of this game."
Fuori Schema by Nicola Giorgio
"I was inspired by basketball game plan to create a pattern of shapes, lines and colors that transform the iconic segments of the basketball into borderless spaces".
Flora by Emma Barducci
"My idea comes from the great versatility of leather. Thanks to this quality I was able to create flowers and leaves that convey another fundamental aspect of this precious material: sustainability".
Fuori dalle righe by Beatrice Murphy
"I took inspiration from the fair's slogan “BE PART OF THIS GAME” to create a work focused on dynamism and fun. The circus characters come to life on the balloons thanks to the colors and different textures of the leather".
Orizzonti senza confini by Sara di Giovanni
"Evade the typical lines of the ball to create new paths traveled by more subjects. They represent different worlds that meet and coexist eliminating every border where the undisputed protagonist is the versatility of the leather that shapes the various characters".
Mondi comunicanti by Sara di Giovanni
"Show the various worlds that welcomes the brand Lineapelle. Like sports. Like the food. Like music. Like fashion. Like us. Representing one for each section of the ball and weaving them together in a set of images that evoke them".
Intreccio by Serena Hu
"I took inspiration from the intertwining of lines forming decoration on the surface of the ball, the idea is to bring the observer's gaze to a vanishing point like the goal of a basketball player".
Differenziazione by Serena Hu
"I took inspiration from skin modeling, forming various floral decorative interfaces, the idea is to highlight that skin is very moldable, and at the same time represents various types of character".
Additionally, on February 20-21, the creative team from IED Firenze will host two live illustration sessions open to fair visitors.
