IED Barcelona Graphic Design, pathway in Advertising, students Arianna Barahona and Irina Kavtaradza, designed the two merchandising proposals that were presented at the 14th Setba Award Ceremony

A cooling bag for wine bottles inspired by the tradition of the “capgrossos” — carnival figures with oversized heads — of the Penedés region, and the Setba Prize 2025 Calendar. These are the two merchandising proposals aiming to provide visibility to the works shortlisted for the Magistrals/Setba Prize project, designed by two IED Barcelona third-year Graphic Design, pathway in Advertising, students.

Created by Irina Kavtaradza and Arianna Barahona respectively, both products were presented on 16 September at Caixaforum on the occasion of the 14th Setba Prize Award Ceremony. In the case of the calendar, it is a unique item that includes reproductions of the winning and shortlisted works from previous editions of the award, which can be framed. It can be purchased via the Artesta website exclusively and the profits will go to the Magistrals project by the Setba Foundation [Fundació Setba].

The cooling bag — with a functional design, conceived to promote sustainability and reduce single-use materials — will be present in various bars and restaurants soon. It will also be available for sale with limited stock via the Fundació Setba website.

“Digital Portrait”

This is the second edition in which IED Barcelona collaborates with the Fundació Setba in a project that combines social design, co-creation and inclusion. And in this second experience, the relationship between both institutions has also been strengthened, going a step further. As announced by Eduard Castañé, Deputy Director of IED Barcelona, at the Setba Prize gala, Rubén Afonso, the winning artist of this edition of the competition, as well as 10 colleagues from his organisation, will participate in a digital photography masterclass entitled ‘Digital Portrait’ courtesy of the design school.

Valued at 1,000 euros, the workshop will last three hours and will be held on 1 October at the IED Barcelona Point One facilities.
