Today marks the start of the 77th edition of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, which this year includes the participation of a total of eight IED alumni.
As part of the established designers programme, Pablo Erroz, former student and teacher at IED Barcelona, will present the Estímulo collection on Thursday 16 on the official catwalk; a proposal that is diverse, broad, global and full of contrasts, with which he will compete to win the L'Oréal Paris Award for Best Collection.
IED Madrid alumni Margil Peña and Ana Viglione, creators of the fashion brand REPARTO, and Aitor Goikoetxea, IED Barcelona alumnus, will showcase their new creations on the Allianz EGO catwalk on Sunday 19
Called Continuará... and Andarrak, respectively, both proposals are committed to sustainability and will compete to win the prestigious Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent award, a recognition that celebrates its 21st edition this year.
Finally, the Allianz Ego Showroom, a space reserved for emerging brands where the exhibited pieces can be purchased directly, includes the presence of Denise Graus (IED Barcelona alumnus), with her brand Denise, and IED Madrid alumni, Cecilia Navarro Mejías (with Abelina), Nacho Lamar (with L'Amar Contemporary) and the fashion firm Tíscar Espadas, founded and creatively directed by the designer of the same name. They will be four of the 15 candidates in with a chance of winning the fourth edition of the Allianz EGO Confidence in Fashion Award, aimed at promoting the career of young talent in Spanish fashion.
