Javier Royo in Bogotá for an open lesson on creativity.
Next September, the IED team will travel to Colombia with Javier Royo, designer, illustrator, creativity expert and faculty at the IED Kunsthal Bilbao.
During his visit, Javier Royo will give a series of workshops and conferences with our allies in Colombia. From September 18 to 21, he will visit some of the most renowned universities in that country that offer programs related to the creative industries sector.
“Creativity - Combing your hair every day with creativity” is the name of the conference that will take place in different Colombian cities and in which the following questions will be addressed:
How can I exercise it in my daily life? What is the creative process? How can I learn to develop it to evolve? How can I ask different questions that lead me to different results?

During both events, you will have the opportunity to learn about the IED, its academic offer and its schools in Spain and Italy.

About Javier Royo
In addition to his teaching work at the IED Kunsthal Bilbao, Javier Royo is the creative director of Chispum Studio and collaborates with media outlets such as the newspaper El País, La Maleta de Portbou, Uppers and El Estafador.
He is also the author of the publications "Homo Machus", "Life is sho" and "Dibujo, luego pienso", among others. Also notable are his project to humanize spaces for the UTAE clinic (Hospital de Sant Joan de Déu), selected as a finalist in the Illustration World Awards among the 12 most important Environmental Illustration projects in the world; and the 2020 Gràffica Award. In 2021 he created a large mural painting at the Barcelona Design Museum as a guest artist at the exhibition dedicated by the museum to Banksy.
