IED Cagliari is an internationally recognised educational experience that allows our graduates to continue their studies outside the island, wherever they wish.  

Design Department

Interior Design, Product Design, Home Staging, Exhibit Design and Home Decor combine space and product design with innovation and sustainability.

Fashion Department

Fashion Design and Visual Merchandising, where you can learn the design dynamics of fashion, with an ethical and environmentally friendly approach.

Visual Arts Department

Media Design, Graphic Tools and Game Design: the real and virtual spaces where you will learn how to use cutting-edge software to master the digital world, and design gaming and multimedia experiences.

Communication Department

Communication Design, the course aimed at learning the techniques of creativity and using them strategically for brands, designing online and offline campaigns and brand identities.

Each neighbourhood in Cagliari is well connected thanks to the CTM public transport lines, including buses and the overground metro, making travel easy, fast and convenient.

How to get there

Cagliari has a good public transport network.

metro line and plenty of bus routes provide easy access to any part of the city until late in the evening and to the outskirts. The ticket for a single ride costs €1.20, but different types of season tickets and discounts are available for students or frequent travellers.

The CTM( Consorzio Trasporti e Mobilità) website offers comprehensive information and allows the shortest route to be calculated by entering the desired destination. Up-to-date timetables for transport routes can be downloaded from the company portal.

Soon, a Bike Sharing service will also be available in the Cagliari area, making it possible to move around the town on two wheels, benefiting from all the advantages of cycling in the city.

Cagliari's main railway station is part of the national railway system (Ferrovie dello Stato), and is easily accessible by public transport.

Cagliari is connected via Cagliari-Elmas “Mario Mameli” airport. Not far from the city, it can be reached by taxi or a bus connection. The main routes fly to Milan and Rome. The major low-cost airlines operate here.

The airport’s website is full of information on air traffic and reachable destinations.

Cagliari is also served by the passenger and commercial port and cruise terminal in Via Roma. From Cagliari, there are scheduled passenger ship services to Civitavecchia, Naples, Palermo and Trapani, and freight services to Genoa and Livorno. Cagliari is also home to a Canal Port, dedicated to container traffic. An area of the harbour in Via Roma is reserved for tourist boats. There are two other tourist ports in the city: Su Siccu (Lega Navale) and Marina Piccola.

With a wide range of cultural events that bring the city to life all year round and its excellent climate even in winter, Cagliari is perfect for taking a break from studying, relaxing and unwinding.

Feast of St. Ephysius

Every year since 1652, from 1 to 4 May, Cagliari celebrates the martyr Saint Ephysius with a procession that accompanies his statue to Nora, the site of his martyrdom. An extraordinary event where devotion, folklore and tradition meet.

Marina Café Noir - Festival of Applied Literature

Founded in 2003 in Cagliari's historic Marina district, the festival is organised as a popular festival, telling stories in the streets, in the squares, among the people. Three days of meetings, debates, concerts and performances associated with a theme that changes every year.

Pazza Idea Festival. Creative Project

Pazza idea is a project dealing with books and reading that focuses on creativity, new languages, and the interest and involvement of young readers. Organised by the cultural association Luna Scarlatta, it offers a packed calendar of events for three days in November.

International Jazz Festival in Sardinia - European Jazz Expo

Since 1980, a festival that hosts international artists and new talents at the Teatro Massimo in Cagliari with a unique mix of jazz, fusion, funk, hip-hop and world music.

Tuttestorie - Children's Literature Festival

For the past 20 years, this event has been dedicated to children from 0 to 16 years of age, with a space for adults to learn and educate as well. Meetings, workshops, shows, storytelling and performances with international guests.

Ateneika

Launched in 2013, Ateneika is a festival with a busy programme of activities ranging from sports tournaments to free concerts. A programme of events that has been taking place for years at the University Sports Centre and which brings together thousands of young people.
