A talk in which IED participates as part of Fusion Point, an initiative that breaks down the barriers between the academic world, industry and society.
On Tuesday 31 January at 6 pm, IED, Esade and the UPC will participate in the first UPCArts dialogue at CASA SEAT in Barcelona. The meeting will revolve around the Fusion Point initiative, a cutting-edge educational experience promoted by the three institutions in a bid to respond to social challenges through innovation, and in collaboration with companies and organisations, including CERN in Geneva.
Entitled “From university to company: solving challenges through techno-humanism”, the talk will delve into how breaking down the barriers between the academic world, industry and society can contribute to solving current challenges. And it will do so from a humanistic and technological perspective, with the aim of offering more sustainable solutions.
After an introduction via telematics by Markus Nordberg, Head of Resources Development at CERN and Manager of Ideasquare, the round table will begin. It will be moderated by Laura Bellorini, Manager of Fusion Point, and will feature a panel of experts made up of Nanita Ferrone, Director of Fusion Point; Marina Ojan, Director of IED Barcelona’s Master School; and Ramon Bragós, Professor at the UPC’s Barcelona School of Telecommunications Engineering (ETSETB).
The meeting will also feature interventions from IED students who have participated in different editions of the Fusion Point programme, who will share their academic experiences in solving real challenges and social problems.
Attending the event is free. Participants must register in advance via this link.
