I'm currently on my mission to...
New challenges, new experiences, new opportunities.
There are many reasons why one might choose to pursue their dreams and embark on an educational journey far from home. The idea of stepping out of your comfort zone and challenging yourself in a country whose culture and language are unfamiliar can seem daunting at first, but it can greatly contribute to personal growth and development.
Four young students - Sofia, Mara, Amanda, and Sarah - decided to follow their passions and travel from America to Italy, to Milan, Florence, and Rome, each with a very specific mission in mind. Their enterprising spirit and desire to make creativity an integral part of their careers were key factors in starting their journey at IED and pursuing their dreams.
... build my creative future anywhere in the world!
I was looking for an experience that would push my creative boundaries. Studying here is helping me grow from every single experience: in the classroom, with the guidance of professionals and the exchange with classmates; and outside, by living the city of Milan, which is a constant source of inspiration!
Mara's journey at IED
... explore the untold stories of others!
Being here in Florence at IED is giving me the extraordinary opportunity to immerse myself in Italy's rich cultural heritage and engage with its dynamic artistic community. This journey is about discovering new perspectives and challenging myself to reach new heights. In fact, curating allows me to be empowered by empathy and tell stories through art, provoking thought and fostering dialogue among diverse audiences.
Amanda's journey at IED
... fulfilled my childhood dream of studying photography in Rome!
I wanted to find a program that went beyond the basics, one that would allow me to learn hands-on, while having guidance to rely on. IED has given me exactly what I was looking for: here, I’m discovering how to bring my ideas to life and collaborate professionally with others to create something truly unique.
Sarah's journey at IED
... learn not to break spaghetti here in Italy!
Moving from the US to Italy has been challenging - different culture, different language, different traditions - but it taught me the importance of stepping out of my comfort zone to discover who I truly am. Following my passion and turning it into a profession is opening me up to new opportunities.
